Japanese Students want to start a “Cyber-Pay” club with students from Orcas High School.

    Zac Parkerson, a 2004 graduate from Orcas Island, is teaching at a high school in Japan and is leading the English Club.  If you are interested in writing to some young people in Japan, please see Val Hellar and you can get started.

MEETINGS AND EVENTS THIS WEEK

Jostens rep. will be here on Monday, April 12th at lunch time to hand out senior announcements, etc.

High school students have state testing on Tuesday and Thursday, April 13th and 15th. HS class schedule for both days will be:

TESTING and Activities/Work 8:30 – 10:30

Break    10:30 – 10:45

1st period    10:45- 11:50   65

2nd period    11:55 – 12:25  30

Lunch 12:25 – 1:05 (no change)

2nd period(continues)   1:10 – 1:55   45

3rd period                              2:00 – 3:00  65

Note that 2nd period has some extra minutes because it is cut into two pieces.

Tuesday, April 13th MATH TEST –  BRING YOUR CALCULATOR!!

State Math Test There will be lots of math test takers because students missed this test last year – It is really a good idea for students to pass the test this year because it is supposed to change to a different type of test next year.  So pass this math test!!

    FEAST Assembly – three classes at a time in the commons starting at 8:35am according to the following schedule:
    8:35  Chemistry, Applied Math 1 and Computer Applications

9:10  Integrated Math 1, Spanish 2 and Speech

PTSA Cyber Safety meeting for parents – Paul Evans presenting

Thursday,  April 15th State Science Test  PASS IT!!

Saturday, April 17th Student cooking contest in the Home Ec room!

A LOOK AHEAD:

EARTH DAY Parade on Thursday, April 22nd.  Start time is 1pm.  High school classes will not start that afternoon until 1:30pm.   Ask Iris or another Environment Club member for details.
