Three weeks until the final day of school! You can do everything that you have to do within the time allowed and then head off happily into summer.
OASIS HS Commencement Ceremony on Saturday; Orcas HS next Saturday. All are invited to attend these events.
Thanks to the juniors for putting on such a very great Prom!!
Please be careful driving on campus.
Particularly when going past the school buses, drive slowly and carefully.
If you have not turned in your HS Course Request Form for next year, please do so this week!!
The schedule is determined based on your requests. If you do not turn in your requests, your wants/needs are not reflected in the schedule! Trying to get a draft schedule done so that students can select classes on the final day of school!!
Congratulations to our softball team! They went to the semi finals and lost to Napavine on Saturday after 6 hours of straight softball! The girls did an incredible job!

SENIORS: Your student check out forms will be available in the office this week!! This is your final one! You cannot practice for or participate in the graduation ceremony unless this form is completed. Yes, one more thing to do and yes, you can do it!

Please remember that June 4 is the last day to check out books from the library and all books are due back to the library June 11. If you need to have a book to complete work, come talk to Mrs. Doss.
Wanted: Intern for Whale Watching/Wildlife tour business. Successful applicant(s) would earn CTE work based learning credit over the summer, and spend one to two days a week learning the scheduling part of the whale watch tourism business, AND training as deck hand and naturalist on whale/wildlife watching tours. YES, this does mean you would be going out on the boat–weekly. See Marta Branch if you are interested.
Interested in a career as a cosmetologist?
Orcas high school alumni Brittney Jade and her co-students will be here from Bellingham beauty school. They will be here on June 10 to perform hair demos as well as a question and answering session on the hair biz!

It is possible to earn credit for your work through Career Choices/Work Based Learning. If this sounds appealing to you, all paperwork must be in place before the end of school on June 17th. Mrs. Schuh has Career Choices/WBL forms in room 301.
Students interested in performing with the Community/HS Orchestra for Commencement Exercises should contact Mrs. Hanks for information and music. Play for your graduating friends!
High school students: get those Navigation 101 online lessons done asap! Ice cream on June 9th at lunch for those who are done. Also better chance at grant $$ to pay for NAV 101 next year.
MUSIC INVENTORY:
It is that time of year again to check instruments for the end of the year inventory. Teachers and students, if you have an instrument that belongs to the school district, please bring the instrument to Mrs. Hanks to have a condition check. If you wish to rent the instrument for the summer, there will be a rental form and a 25 dollar charge. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Hanks

9:30AM National Honor Society Induction Assembly
Elections of new ASB officers and Teacher Award Ceremony (those moved from Celebration of Success) following the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony.
ASB Candidates will speak at the assembly – 8th graders will be invited to attend that part because 8th graders vote in the election
ASB elections will be held Tuesday, June 1, in room 609. Each classroom will be called to come up and vote.
Teen Tutor end of the year celebration on Tuesday, June 1st during lunch.
OASIS Senior project presentations on Tuesday afternoon:
This week we will have Sheri DeRaimo, Sam Prado, Chris Walsh, Tom Wilbanks, Aliana Vedder and Alex Brown presenting.

Seniors need to finish their Portfolios by June 2nd. Put those
finishing touches on them and get them in!
The last blood drive on the school year is June 3rd from 12:00-6:00
at the fire hall. If you are a first timer and need a parent permission slip you can pick one up in the office. Since there are no sports seasons going on, this would be a great time for those of you who can not give during your season, to give blood. Lets all help out by giving blood.

IMPORTANT! HSPE(STATE TESTS) SUMMER SIGN-UP: If you need to take or retake the State tests this summer, see the counselor for registration information. The sign-up window is June 1 – 18. The test dates are August 9 -12. Juniors you want to take this test this summer if you need to pass any parts.
