!!
See: http://www.k12.wa.us/EducationAwards/WashingtonAchievement/default.aspx
For the first two years it was called the Schools of Distinction Award.
For the last three it has become the Achievement Award. This year, Orcas High School won in overall excellence and awards for both language arts and math!!
The Award is based on student performance on required state tests taken by students in Algebra and Geometry; and by 10th graders in reading, writing and science. This year 10th graders will take reading, and writing and End of Course tests in Algebra, Geometry and Biology. End of Course tests will also be the final exam in those classes.

Student Anouncements: Week of Jan 22, 2012

This is NOT the final week of the quarter/semester. We have moved finals to next week. See possible schedule at the end of the bulletin.

There will be no half days for finals. It has been noted that we missed four days of school last week and that more time off is not affordable.

We are going to have to make up at least two of the days missed. We may be able to get a state waiver for the other two because the governor called a state of emergency late on January 18th.

There may be more snow between now and the arrival of Spring- hopefully no more days missed….
