Student Announcements: Week of December 11,2011
This is the final week before the December break. Unless you enjoy doing schoolwork over the break, get everything done that you possibly can this week so that it does not follow you into the break.
That was a very fine Community Dinner on Friday. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a success. Notice the new photos hanging in the cafeteria and says thanks to Mandy Randolph for them.

Student Announcments- Week of Nov 6,2011
Welcome to the first week of the second quarter!
**Veterans Day is on Friday, November 11th. All of us will celebrate with a holiday in honor of our veterans.
In addition to the day off, we honor veterans by remembering their service to our country, and by learning or remembering why and how we created a day to recognize veterans. A good way to start is to add up the number of veterans you know either on Orcas or elsewhere.
“While those who died are also remembered on Veterans Day, which is observed on November 11, Veterans Day is intended to thank and honor all those who served honorably in the military – in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank living Veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served – not only those who died – have sacrificed and done their duty. “

**As we arrive at the end of the quarter, please be sure that any detention that you earned has been served.
