Facts:The Orcas Island Community Band was started in 1991 by ten island residents who played music in a garage, (a real garage band!). Today, 1% of the Orcas Island population plays in the Orcas Island Community Band.

Instruments:Currently, the following instruments are represented: flutes, piccolos, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, coronets, trombones, euphoniums, tubas, bassoons, and all kinds of percussion.

Membership:Averages 40 members annually with ages ranging from middle and high school students all the way to folks in their 80s. The band represents an eclectic mix of musicians that compliments the eclectic mix of music the band is known for. Anyone with enthusiasm is invited to join.
