The decision to close school for the day or delay the start of our day by two hours due to inclement weather is not an easy one; conditions may vary considerably in a district of 59 square miles. This district recognizes that snow days or other weather-related closings often disrupt family schedules and extend the school year, but our first consideration will always be the safety of students, staff, and families. Please note that parents always have the final decision on whether or not to send their child to school in the event of inclement weather conditions.

OISD will continue to contact families via School Messenger to deliver pertinent information such as abbreviated bus routes or delays. In order to ensure that all OISD families are receiving School Messenger notifications, we ask that parents and guardians take a moment this week to contact their child's school to update or verify their contact information on file.

When possible, information regarding inclement weather adjustments will be posted on the school website and Facebook.
