📢 Support San Juan County Schools! 📢
Our island students and teachers deserve fair funding. The upcoming legislative session is our chance to make a difference.
This week our San Juan County Schools Superintendents will lace up their advocacy boots and head to Olympia to represent and support ALL of their staff.
They will specifically be asking for an increase in regionalization in an effort to increase salaries to better fit the financial cost of living on our ferry served islands.
On Monday, our Union Leaders will be heading to Olympia. Let's rally and help to lift and support their efforts.
You can help support their message by sending postcards, emailing, or calling the legislative leaders they will be meeting with on Wednesday, Thursday, and next Monday.
Please direct outreach to Representatives Ramel, Bergquist, Lekanoff and Senators Wellman, Pedersen, and Braun.
The website has resources for wording, contact information, and a new one-pager specific to regionalization (thank you Sarah).
Please check it out and take a moment to advocate for our amazing staff!
By using our collective voices we can make a difference for the 1.1 million students in Washington state.
Visit supportislandschools.org for more details and sample messages.
Let’s ensure our schools receive the support they need!
